Singing it back
Do you love to sing but can’t read music? Our weekly groups and workshops are open to all regardless of musical background. We sing a varied set of songs from Pop to Folk, Zulu to Swing, Gospel to Chant, so there really is something for everybody.
Singing is a great way to make new friends. A great team building exercise, a huge confidence builder -don’t worry, you’ll never be asked to sing alone (unless you want to of course)!
The inclusive style of teaching orally means that the leader can support the group during the learning process. We tend to cover songs in 3 or 4 part harmony and in our weekly groups are able to build upon the material each week and have something very satisfying to show at the end of the term.
School INSET days are a great opportunity for the teachers to learn something new together from scratch, which can then be shared with the pupils. Research has shown that music aids personal development, it strengthens social skills, enhances intellectual development, improves maths, reading abilities whilst promoting abstract reasoning and spatial cognition.
Singing is a way of binding communities together. Singing to express joy, grief, gratitude. Singing to celebrate a special occasion – a birthday, a wedding. Singing together with a performance in mind, or singing purely for pleasure or for fun. Born with our very own transportable instrument – our voice. Used so much for talking but often too shy for singing.
Why not get in touch and pop along to a weekly rehearsal to see if you’d like to join us for a term?
If you have a group and would like to arrange a workshop for teambuilding, for fun, for a family party, then we’d love to hear from you and build a workshop around your needs.
